Sunset Dinner at the Ranch
 

Joyful Ranch Foundation seeks to inspire and educate all on the rich history in the William James Pleasants Ranch, and to provide a setting for spiritual renewed ...by:
Securing Habitat for Wildlife and Native Plants:
Eagle Scout project constructing bat houses, which also helps in the preservation of historic buildings as the bats decided to make their homes in the Victorian and in a couple of other buildings; provided brush piles for nesting birds and for small animals;
Conserving Land and Waterways:
 

Monitoring of Pleasants Creek including newly discovered beaver dams; continuous checking and eradicating of a few stubborn stalks of Arundo; removal of huge 100+ year old cottonwood limb that fell in creek; an Eagle Scout project began which will provide steps up a steep creek bank incline and help secure the bank against further erosion;

Preserving Historic Buildings:
Dead tree removed next to the Foreman's Cottage, with 5 more to go; began the renovation process of the cottage by having schematic drawings done; Victorian porch repair; painting bids for the historic Smoke House and Bunk House; submitted applications for 2 grants, one which focuses on the Victorian home;
Supporting Agriculture:
 

Rotating cattle in varying pastures; repair of solar panel/water pipeline for cattle's water supply; pump replacement and waterline repair; disking walnut orchard to conserve moisture;

More Exciting News: 9 chairs are featured in the "Take a Seat" exhibit at the Vacaville Museum.
