Securing Habitat for Wildlife and Native Plants:
|
 |
Eagle Scout project constructing bat houses, which also helps in the
preservation of historic buildings as the bats decided to make their
homes in the Victorian and in a couple of other buildings; provided
brush piles for nesting birds and for small animals; |
|
Conserving Land and Waterways: |
|
|
Monitoring of Pleasants Creek including newly discovered beaver dams;
continuous checking and eradicating of a few stubborn stalks of Arundo;
removal of huge 100+ year old cottonwood limb that fell in creek; an
Eagle Scout project began which will provide steps up a steep creek bank
incline and help secure the bank against further erosion; |

Preserving Historic Buildings: |
 |
Dead tree removed next to the Foreman's Cottage, with 5 more to go;
began the renovation process of the cottage by having schematic drawings
done; Victorian porch repair; painting bids for the historic Smoke House
and Bunk House; submitted applications for 2 grants, one which focuses
on the Victorian home; |

Supporting Agriculture: |
|
|
Rotating cattle in varying pastures; repair of solar
panel/water pipeline for cattle's water supply; pump replacement and
waterline repair;
disking walnut orchard to conserve moisture; |
